New website launched for DocHouse
An exciting new website for DocHouse was launched yesterday. The organisation promotes independent, international documentary at all levels, creates new audiences and invests in the development of new documentary talent.
We’re loving the new site here at DocGeeks! As is the case with documentaries, the old image has been cast aside and made place for a shiny new one-stop shop. Here you can find the latest films in the DocHouse Thursday programme, brand new affordable courses and a wealth of information put together from previous events and screenings.
The site also features all the recorded Q&A’s from last season with top class filmmakers such as Kevin Macdonald, Patricio Guzman and Carol Morley. If you need inspiration then this is the place.
In case you’re not familiar with Dochouse, these are some of the things they do:
- Year-round screenings of UK and international documentaries at six partner cinemas in London with Q&As and panel discussions supporting the screenings.
- One-off festivals, masterclasses and events.
- Training opportunities for documentary makers to develop their craft and their expertise, through courses, workshops, and mentoring.
- Growing a community both in the cinemas and online for the appreciation and further impact of the documentary.
One of their most ambitious goals is the “establishment of an internationally renowned dedicated Documentary Centre and Institute”. The centre is to be a hub and a home for all documentary makers to learn and develop their craft, a social centre for UK and international filmmakers to showcase their work. We say YES to that!!
If this sounds good to you or you just want to have a quick peek to see if we were telling the truth about the new website, then visit the brand new DocHouse site by clicking here.
