Apply now for the WFTV Mentoring Scheme London 2012/13

Women filmmakers gather! The Women in Film & TV (WFTV) is an organisation for women working in creative media in the UK, and together with Creative Skillset and EON Productions they now offer a London mentoring scheme to help you on your way with your latest project.

Over six months from November 2012 to April 2013, selected participants will receive six hours of mentoring contact with an experienced industry figure, combined with an intensive programme of seminars, training workshops and networking opportunities; a great opportunity to learn new skills.

The scheme is especially designed for women who have more than five years experience working in TV, film or digital production or business roles (such as writing, directing, producing, vision mixing, cinematography, composing, sales and acquisitions). You can find out more information about previous schemes and mentees here. Don’t wait too long with entering though as the deadline for applications is Tuesday 31July at midnight.

In case you’re not sure if the scheme is right for you then come along to this open evening on 23 July to find out more. Nicola Lees (aka TVMole), the scheme’s producer, will give a short presentation and previous mentees will be on hand to answer all your questions.

In case you don’t yet have the five years experience needed or would like to get involved with the WFTV outside of the mentoring scheme then check out their events calendar as they host a variety of events throughout the year, including a awards ceremony in December and regular networking evenings. On top of that they collaborate with industry bodies on research projects and lobby for women’s interests.
