Ice-T to perform at European premiere of new documentary

You might have heard about it, Ice T’s new documentary titled Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap. Now it’s coming to the UK and to mark its European premiere Ice-T himself will perform with rap legends Chuck D, Melle Mel and Raekwon at the Hammersmith Apollo where the audience can see the film for the first time.

The Art of Rap is a feature-length documentary about the runaway juggernaut that is rap music, and who better to take us behind the scenes than Ice-T?

As a director and interviewer Ice-T takes us on a personal journey into the streets where it all began. What comes out is a booming  rags to riches story of a music genre that came from the streets and now dominates the world. With all the stars featuring in the film - think Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West – the documentary can be seen as a mighty soul tribute to the original American art form that brought poetry to a new generation.

If you like to be the first to see the film and want to see Ice-T perform a one-off live concert then get onto it now and book your tickets for Thursday 19 July at the Hammersmith Apollo here.

If you like a gamble you could also try to win tickets simply by following The Art of Rap on Twitter or Liking them on Facebook

Alternatively you can catch a special preview of the documentay at the Ritzy (9.45pm 20 July) or Stratford East Picturehouse (7pm 19 July). They both have a live Q&A with the man himself planned for after the film!
